Olympic Fever

Well the 2010 Games are here and the city is electric.

Everywhere you turn there is red and white pride, grinning faces, and amazing events.

It's day 3 and the public transit situation is not nearly as horrible as some had made it out to be. We’ve managed to get around with no more than a regular waits for trains and buses. Nothing to note other than loads of happy Olympic fans everywhere, no issues, no fussing, no problems.

This week I’ve got a day off from classes on Tuesday and plan to walk the city with friends, taking in Ireland House, along with a few other site and most likely a few drinks.

P and I are going to a Curling event Thursday, heading up to Whistler Saturday for some shredding and partying and then making our way to up Cypress for the Men’s Ski Cross on Sunday.

It’s a crazy busy time and I am so grateful to be here in VanCity right now, having the world as our guests and fully enjoying every minute of it.

31 is the new 25

Cuz that's how old I feel, and for sure that's how old I act :)

At first I was grossed out about turning 31. More so than 30 ever did.

30 was exciting. I was a real grown up. 30 - That number commands respect ... right?

31 just made me realize that I was no longer going to be "30" and that I was going to be IN my 30s. That honestly freaked me out.

But today I was calm. It didn't phase me at all. In fact, I relished it.

31 years ago today that I came tearing into this world and so far I have lived quite the life. Many an up and down and there is still more to come.

eager to see what is in store over the next 31.

Hmmmm, 62 ... wonder what that is gonna be like :)

Birthday Horoscope: Aquarius

Consider channeling your philosophical inspirations into some creative writing, Aquarius. You’ll certainly enjoy this type of activity. Even if you haven't explored this before, there's no better day than today to give it a whirl. Why not start a journal if you haven't done so already? This will give your ideas a place to incubate, and it can become a starting point for further reflection. Or you could try your hand at poetry and fiction instead.
