I like to read ….

“Like” may be the wrong word … Its more like I need to read. I feel bad if there isn’t a book dog-eared on my bedside table or bathroom. I need to read, yes, it’s a need. Like breathing, sleeping or eating. Needless to say, working in a bookstore was as close to heaven I have gotten so far ….

To feed this craving, I have been digesting a lot of books since the start of the year, a record number even for me. I am decided that I want to get 24 reads behind me this year (an easy two a month) And between a 5 day cross Canada road trip and the copious amounts of general down time I plan on having this summer, I may just be able to reach my goal.

These are the stats so far:

1. Life After God ~ Douglas Coupland
2. All Families are Psychotic ~ Douglas Coupland
3. Eleanor Rigby ~ Douglas Coupland
4. Hey Nostradamus! ~ Douglas Coupland
5. Shampoo Planet ~ Douglas Coupland
6. The Rebel Sell ~ Joseph Heath & Andrew Potter

So it would appear that I have to take on a few more reads stat! As it stands, the following are on the NEXT LIST:

1. Generation X ~ Douglas Coupland
2. Wicked ~ Gregory Maguire
3. No Logo ~ Naomi Klein (it’s a re-read but it sill counts!)
4. Chuck Klosterman IV: A Decade of Curious People and Dangerous Ideas ~ Chuck Klosterman
5. Wet and Wired: A Pop Culture Encyclopedia of The Pacific Northwest ~ Randy Hodgins

If anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

Hopefully I will accomplish my 2007 goal!
