*Click*Click*SNAP*

I've recently started using Flickr to upload my snaps.

I've not yet upgraded the the pro site, so I still have limited uploads per month but before I head out on my adventures this year I will so I can be sure to get all my snaps uploaded as they are taken.

Here's my link if you're so inclined:

Resolutions

I don’t normally make these since I rarely seem to be able to stick to them but something about this year feels different.

I feel more motivated and strong, I feel like I can accomplish things more easily than before.

Is this the gleam of a new decade? Maybe ... or maybe I have finally grown up!

Whatever it is, I have a sense that this time its gonna work out.

So here they are, let’s hope they stick:

Go Sugar Free: This one I think is gonna actually be easy since I don’t eat out much and make all my own meals so I can control my intake

Spend No More Than $50 a Week: And that means on ANYTHING (food, entertainment, personal grooming etc) It may sound easy but its something I really need to commit to, for all sorts of reasons

Learn a New Language: I’ve ordered Instant Immersion lessions from Amazon.com in French, Spanish & German

Lose 25 lbs Before June 10: My world adventure departure date, this one is totally doable

2010 … where to start?

The new decade is here. How on earth did time fly by so quickly?

The last decade was full of ups and downs, amazing moments and not so fantastic ones.

But all in all it was nothing short of a massive group of life lessons:

I graduated from college
I got married
I got divorced
I lost some wonderful people in my life
I gained some wonderful people in my life
I lived alone for the first time
I drove across the country, moving to a new city to start a new life
I fell in love again
I turned 30
I watched my friends become parents
I travel to Europe
I quit a 10 year career
I went back to school
I became a vegan

It’s a new decade, a new beginning and it’s only just the tip of the iceberg:

2010 already has the traits of a year to remember

I will graduate from college
I will become a homeowner
I will travel to Africa and Asia
I will start my career in sustainable eco-tourism

When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.

AHHHH

Under 6 Months before I head out on my adventure of a lifetime!

WOW - Where does the time go?

School update: I am kicking ass and loving every minute of it. Right now in the midst of international airline ticketing and fares and I've completed my Apollo ticketing system training.

Keep on rolling baby, only 4 months left!

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

~William Ernest Henley

Invictus is a 2009 drama feature film based on Nelson Mandela's life during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film stars Morgan Freeman as the then South African President Mandela, and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar, the South African team captain. The story is based on the John Carlin book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Changed a Nation.

I just got back from seeing this and am moved. I'm now even more excited to be visiting a country with such a diverse and intense history.

2010 travels will bring me much insight and expose me to many things, some of which I feel I am prepared, some of which I know I am not.

I await the adventure and education.
